Self-Esteem

You know, I think we all struggle to some degree with self-esteem issues. I certainly do, that's for sure. What people think or say about me can make or break my day. But a healthy self-esteem comes from God and does not waver. If I could only figure out how to get all my self-worth from God I'd be set.

This is so true! I am realizing, the older I get, that the opinions of man do not matter. I wish I had learned that a long time ago. It would've saved me a lot of heartache! I'm still not totally there, but it is much better. It's really how I look at myself and my desire for approval from others. When I realize that the only approval I need is God's and that has already been accomplished through Jesus, it changes my perspective.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm trying to learn to really have confidence in who He says I am instead of using my own "measuring stick" or the world's standards. He says that in Christ we are without spot or blemish and free from accusation. WOW. I pray that he'll help us all really get a hold of that...
