Dust to Dust

As y'all know it has been hard for my family and I to deal with the declined health of my Mother-in-law, and I have been crying out to the Lord for His peace. This song really spoke to me today, and I thought I would share it with you.

Keith Green
Dust To Dust lyrics

Sometimes it's hard to see,

Sometimes it's hard to get through to me,

But I want to do all that you ask me to.

Help me to follow through,

Make every day a devotion to you,

Cause it's dust to dust, until we learn how to trust.

Sometimes I wander away,

And I'm lost in the dark, my faith starts to sway

I don't know what to do, so I cry out to you.

And I reach out in the air,

And I call out your name and you're always there,

Then you send down your light,

Then you tell me, walk by faith not by sight,

And then you come shining down.

I'm putting your armor on,

Finding myself so suddenly drawn,

Like a moth a flame, whenever you call my name.

Help me to follow through,

Make every day a devotion to you,

Cause it's dust to dust, until we learn how to trust.

Sometimes I wander away,

And I'm lost in the dark, my faith starts to sway

I don't know what to do, so I cry out to you.

And I reach out in the air,

And I call out your name and you're always there,

Then you send down your light,

Then you tell me, walk by faith not by sight,

And then you come shining down.

Sometimes it's hard to see,

You know, sometimes it's hard to get through to me,

Sometimes it's hard to see,

You know, sometimes it's hard to get through to me,

But it's dust to dust until we learn how to trust.

Until we learn how to trust.

I love Keith Green! Trust. Sometimes it's so stinkin' hard, though. I can say with my mouth that I trust Him in certain areas and then later my words and emotions will reveal the true condition of my heart -- lack of trust. I'm so glad He's slow to anger and abounding in love. How desperately we need His grace and His shepherding touch...

AMEN! I am in awe of God's grace and patience! I am gradually letting go and moving into a place where I can learn to Trust God with this circumstance. I keep looking at it wrong. I keep seeing what people will do (or not do) and not recognizing that God can do ANYTHING! So Lord, help me to follow through and make every day a devotion to you 'cause it's dust to dust until I learn how to trust.
