Prov 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. (NIV)

I have not always been a wise woman to be sure. I feel that in the past I have used my own hands to tear down my house (my marriage in particular). I feel that God has taught me so much and has done so much in my life and marriage that I think I am moving towards the wise woman category. I want to always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading to build my house God's way. I am so blessed to have such a godly, loving husband and two great sons who love the Lord and have been saved since they were 4 years old. I am rich beyond measure! Thank you God!

When You are at the End of Your Rope

"You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule." Matthew 5:2, Message

"When you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on!"

My Cathedral

My Cathedral
By:
Chris Rice

Sweetest days of childhood,
Playing in the deep woods,
Stomping through the creek
and feeling oh-so-much alive.
We're camping in the forest,
We join the cricket chorus,
Hum our songs of gratitude
around a crackling fire.
Out here in the stillness,
I found my house of worship
with column trees and canopy of stars,
Here in my cathedral.
It was beneath the blue skies,
I ran down to be baptized,
I felt the river wash me clean
and dried beneath the sun.
To this day believing
I'm wide awake or dreaming,
Scan the ancient sky
and understand where I belong.
Cause out here in the stillness,
I find my house of worship
with column trees and canopy of stars,
Here in my cathedral.
This is where I find my soul,
Out where holy men of old
first knelt in soil
and thanked You for the rain.
Wrote the songs that filled the air,
Harold angels sang their prayer,
out beneath
your darling constellations.
Let me off and wander,
Robin song and thunder,
Surrounding me with stained glass leaves
that change with every breeze.
Out here in the stillness,
I find my house of worship
with column trees and canopy of stars,
Here in my cathedral.

I have always been a fan of God's creation. As a kid I loved climbing trees and just sitting there, drinking in the sights, sounds and smells of God's creation. I loved finding a creek or stream (or any body of water) and would sit there reveling in the peace watching for critters. I always felt so close to God when I was alone in nature. That's why when I first heard this song I loved it because I feel that the woods are indeed my cathedral, more glorious than any man-made cathedral could ever be. I get the biggest thrill each time I see a deer, or a fox, or even a rabbit. I exclaim right out loud every time I am privileged to see a rainbow, and have to share it with someone. I love each waterfall, the beach and the pounding waves and the majestic mountains. Thank you God for providing such beauty, allowing me to feel close to You!

God's Provision

God has done it yet again! He has provided us with a second vehicle, and boy what timing! I really need a vehicle this week. The neat thing about this is that in college Darin wanted a Chevy Blazer, and this is what God provided. And the year of this truck is about the year Darin would have gotten in college. Darin is so tickled with the fact that it is a blazer, so it is such a blessing that God not only provides for our needs, but He even picked out a vehicle that would really bless my hubby! Now when we go camping we will have room to store our stuff. You should have seen us traveling to Jekyll Island this year to camp. The poor kids were covered in massive piles of stuff that wouldn't fit in the trunk. We can also fit home improvement items in this blazer which is timely because we are replacing windows and we will be putting in a laminate floor. God is so good and I am so thankful to Him for loving us so much!
